A conscious robot is in principle possible
SupportiveArgument
1
#1056
The supervenience thesis suggests that if a robot's built with a brain physically identical to a human's brain, and we know the human is conscious, then the robot will be conscious too.
The means by which both came into existence is irrelevant.
Colin McGinn (1991).

Consciousness is physical
Consciousness is physical☜Physicalism is the doctrine that everything is physical. If everything is physical then consciousness is physical as well. So a conscious computer or robot could be built out of physical parts. ☜EF597B

Artificial consciousness must be nonorganic
Artificial consciousness must be nonorganic☜Artificial consciousness must arise from nonbiological material. For example, one could artificially build a human brain—neuron by neuron—but the resulting consciousness would still be natural—ie instantiated in the material it naturally arises in.☜EF597B
