Abstract
Travel restriction measures varied among countries during the COVID-19 pandemic. The primary reasons for the variation in travel restrictions were the economic costs and the absence of robust evidence regarding the impact of these restrictions on the COVID-19 outbreak. Importation models can detect the risk of importation and assist policymakers in public health emergencies related to travel restrictions if the model is fed with high-quality data and set up with realistic assumptions. In this presentation, I will explain several importation models and the importance of collecting travel-related data during the pandemic.
