Bt Cotton not being subsidized by government, farmers bear the debt
In contrast to the "green revolution," in which a non-sustainable farming model was being subsidised by the government, the move to Bt Cotton is not being subsidized by the government, and farmers, not the the government, are forced to bear the debt.
