[Update I: Peter and I have moved this item close to the top of the development list – and, as things stand, I anticipate that we will begin to experiment with this towards the end of this month (Oct 2011)].
[Update II: The back button browser functionality is fully enabled now (3 November 2011); with further refinements to the format of the URLs expected to follow shortly].
[Update III: Further refinements to the handling of the URLs and friendly names have been implemented this week (12 November); including, correcting a few glitches with the approach uploaded in II and enabling the Horizontal view to be addressed directly via Friendly named URLs (to bring it into line with the approach adopted for the other views). Based on the current approach, and given the fact that each view of each idea, and each variation of each view of each idea can be addressed directly (and that this entails quite complex, parameterised URLs), Peter and I are sceptical now about the residual virtue of including the heading text in the URLs as well. However, further feedback and discussion on this is welcome].
[Observation and suggestion:
What about taking U_Link s in the Node_Name as a hint to the system to automatically supply the Userfriendly_Name, thus freeing the authors from the cumbersome task, to manually create it.
Besides that it would be very convenient to support C_Link s too, because they are so handy ... )
So to make the task easy and restrict generating of Pretty_Urls to those, who are really intended to be referred to in the wider context, I suggest at least to support U_Link type (Connected_Words_By_Underlines and even WordsWithATrailingUnderline_ or _WordsWithALeadingUnderline as used as an interpreted LinkPattern in WikFy).
Currently I can't verify that the node name "Test Link" creates the userfriendly Url http://debategraph.org/Test_Link. cu -- fridemar 2012-03-16 23:46:21 CET ]
