The Manufactured Uncertainty Problem
There has been a well-funded and well organized effort over many years to create uncertainty and confusion over many aspects of climate change, just as occurred in the case of the public health debate over smoking. Indeed, some of the key players have been the same. Given how much legitimate uncertainty there is when it comes to the details of climate change issues, it is very easy to confuse climate – relevant decision-makers with fake information that they have trouble distinguishing.
