When the Pin checkbox – displayed in the top right corner of the maps in Box views – is unchecked, clicking on an idea lets you navigate to that idea (in the same way as clicking on a bubble): when the Pin checkbox is checked, clicking on an idea lets you display its Details without navigating.

The Pin function is particularly useful when, for example, you want to read / dwell on the Details texts of the set of ideas displayed in the current view, without moving away from the current view.
