National Childbirth Trust

The National Childbirth Trust [1] aims to empower and support parents through pregnancy, birth and the first 1000 days of a child’s life. The organisation provides evidence-based information through its website, helpline, social media, antenatal and postnatal classes as well as its local branches and community infrastructure. The antenatal and postnatal classes, in particular, give parents the opportunity to explore different situations, experiences and views with each other in a friendly environment, under the supervision of a trained and experience practitioner. The NCT also gives antenatal, breastfeeding and postnatal training to healthcare professionals. Finally, it is involved in campaigning work for policies that will make life easier for new parents [2].
