Healthy Exercise and Nutrition for the Really Young

HENRY [1] is an award-winning early years obesity-prevention scheme in the UK. The evidence-based intervention works with over 60 local partners, including health trusts, local authorities, public-health departments, voluntary organisations and universities, to help the whole family make positive changes to their lifestyle and build healthier communities. Services HENRY offers include evidence-based training for health and early years practitioners as well as structured individual or group-based family interventions such as the family programme Healthy Families: Right from the Start with HENRY. It also provides parent-led peer support schemes promoting a healthy family lifestyle in local communities, helps childcare settings to enable healthy lifestyles, and produces resources to support work with families [2]
