Excerpt / Summary

Together the Monadnock Center and the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript have developed a process to promote community building and improvement. Each issue begins with an article or Op Ed introduction in the paper, followed by write-in discussion of the topic, then a live meeting at the Center. The conversation there then follows up with more newspaper coverage and opinions and a participant-driven action mechanism, which varies with the topic. So far we have used this mechanism to start a Makerspace organization and to begin discussion of reviving a lifelong learning center.
