In her short online article, Lee Ann Obringer describes ways in which people tend to forget dreams right after they wake up. She says that "It is said that five minutes after the end of a dream, we have forgotten 50 percent of the dream's content." I used this as a way to motivate the reader of my piece that we all need practice in order to become better dreamers. I then used another one of her points, that keeping a "dream journal" is a great way to improve dream recall. I used this in comparison with the greek Progymnasmata (a set of prescriptions given to men to practice rhetorical speaking in public) as an example of things people should do to be better dreamers and use what they learn in the alternate dream reality to improve their actual reality.
