Collective approach to "The Future We Want"
■ A framework for sustainability : Thorbjoern's base as a framework amended eventually with Nicolas' and my own inputs (Thor are you ready to pilot this?)

■ A Systems thinking approach (David A. do you agree to pilot this, who else is in?)

■ Showcase some ready to implement solutions.  (Mary, are you ready to pilot this? who else is in?)

Engage people in a conversation about what their lives and communities could be like in 20 years, if we commit to sustainable development.

Themes, UN Mini-campaigns:
cities, water, oceans, energy, disasters, jobs and food. Most interested in solutions that apply to localities and individuals -- for example, planning communities with sufficient density to support district heating systems, or emphasizing distributed energy generation over central power stations.

a) Rollout of Andrew Fletcher's Pocketful of Acorns (Greg) project in areas where there is inadequate rain e.g. Andalucia, Spain i.e. community gathering of acorns, other nuts and tree seeds, with people nurturing these in plastic bags in their gardens, ready for transplanting into rain-inducing coastal forests, as permitted by the authorities and under the direction of scientists. b) Companies supporting unemployed volunteers (with temporary/part-time assignments) to construct applications for international funding for a measurable pilot demonstration, involving towing treated wastewater & biosolids along a shoreline in, say, Andalucia, to an arid portion of the coast, in order to restore sand to soil and irrigate rain-inducing saplings, to prepare for subsequent inland agroforestry, absorbing CO2 & waste, and producing food & energy crops for indigenous people's consumption & subsistence trade.

c)On Sanitation (TA)

Sulahb International
http://www.sulabhinternational.org/sm/areas_major_initiative.php

The Sulabh International Social Service Organisation is the leading non-profit making outfit, working to promote sanitation and prevent environmental pollution which are critical components of a healthy and productive society.

The Sulabh’s achievements are noteworthy: it has been able to restore human rights and dignity to 1, 20,000 scavengers, set up about 11 Lakhs household toilets and 7500 community toilet blocks, constructed over 190 human-excreta-based biogas plants and made 640 towns scavenging - free. The sanitation facilities created by the Sulabh are used by over 10 million people everyday.

SOIL Haiti (Mary). It addresses urgent health issues at the same time as WEF, with empowerment of children and women at the forefront, very visible in the on-line information one can get about SOIL, and there is nothing more do-able than projects in five-gallon increments, even in dealing with excrement!

e)
Michael Becker - School in Oregon (Mary) and the sixth-grade projects in Hood River, Oregon. I would love to see this empowerment initiative get much attention.

f) Weaving Permaculture, agroecology solutions (Mary)

g) Circular Economy @Turntoo
I would say that the report on the circular economy and the examples that show that it is possible (see this movie on our office and the concept of it as a marketmodel in a circular economy (in German): http://turntoo.com/2011/06/®turntoo-on-german-television/thomas-rau_ard-ratgeber-bauen-wohnen-2/

h) Other Water Energy Solutions. (Bill Williams)
