Fundamental Interactions
There are four fundamental interactions in nature, also called forces. Gravity is the most familiar to us, it is also the weakest. Electromagnetism is the force responsible for thunderstorms and for carrying electricity. The other two, the weak and strong forces, are confined in the atomic nucleus. The strong force holds the nucleus together, whereas the weak force causes some nuclei to split.
