German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier noted on 30th September 2008:
"It was in any case going to be difficult to reach an agreement – the current developments have made it even harder." Of course, if a bank collapses, the impact is more visible, more tangible, but it is climate change that is the more serious problem in the long term."
