AH: wasn't building semiotic graphs for each node; built node from text, then when saw patterns, semiotic square was tool to understand them.
AH: if have symbolization, automatically has those square relations.
AH: SS tries to apply semiotic square to symbolizations looking for relevance; a tool for SS, not rated with great importance for overall map for web of meaning.
AH: Semiotic square is heuristic, clues for where to look.
AH: does symbolized language exist without that model?
AH: process: pilot-3 open interview questions -- looked at results; two groups of questions; for ill, and for recovered.
AH: have all transcripts.
JP: our process will be to use transcripts for testing and developing SolrSherlock
AH: concept of "contact" from Embodied Mind
AH: meanings might not be weighted the way the square would suggest; useful to interpret data; one of the contrary relns in interviews was health and illness; energy and not energy.
AH: seeing that helps understand significance of energy;
AH: although interviewees not healthy, they don't consider themselves to be sick since illness they have is not identified; it's carried around as a burden; hard to identify category of illness by pt.
AH: square still underpins that narrative.
JP: look for ways for SS to use the square when reading, and when to do so.

AH: semiotic dictionary, lots of schemas to consider.
AH: SS needs flexibility in use of schemas and their significance according to context.
AH: how to understand significance--task for SS; some things are immediately obvious; other examples where word might be used only briefly but is highly significant.
