Sam Hahn – COI Amigos CCC
Communication and Commitment to Collaborate from Sam Hahn to COI Amigos (David and Dino) – 20130625 – Initial Draft.

I offer this communication and commitment to collaborate as a unilateral statement of intent. This communication is intended to clarify for you and other interested or affected parties my intention, my commitment, and my responsibilities so that you and others may align or not, as you each sees fit. I offer this in the principle that honesty, transparency, completeness, and currency among sincere collaborators is an effective means for us to align and magnify our joint effectiveness. I will update this position statement and notify you whenever it materially changes.

I invite you to respond to me with your own CCC, should you welcome this collaboration.

(CCC Preamble, version 0.2 - 20100111)

I,

Sam Hahn

In my role as Co-Founder and Co-Managing-Member of Program For The Future, LLC, and as an individual pursuing the vision first expressed by Douglas C Engelbart to scale collaboration and collective intelligence to attain capabilities for addressing large-scale “wicked” problems facing humanity, and as a participant in Dubrovnik KF 2012, and as one of the 3 Amigos

Will collaborate with

My amigos (Dino Karabeg and David Price)

In their roles as fellow Amigos (notwithstanding their other roles with Univ Oslo, DebateGraph, etc)

For this objective

· I intend to collaborate with both of you to iteratively define over several (hopefully many iterations) the “genomic seed material” for scalable alignment and collaboration towards planetary and social wholeness

· I intend to pursue (develop, refine, implement, evolve) the ideas initially offered by Doug Engelbart to do as much as we can together to avert impending planetary disaster by providing humanity with the means to scale our capabilities to collaborate

· We believe that our improved collaboration capabilities shall allow us to imagine and realize possible futures that are better than those we see forthcoming if we continue our current reckless, short-sighted, and haphazard habits based on consumption and immediate gratification

· To create a Community of Impact (or whatever name it eventually adopts)

· To create a core stewardship team / group for the COI (now represented by the Amigos)

With this commitment

· I will commit 5-10 hours per week part-time, aside from my paying day job as VPE eGain

· I will meet with you every morning PT (excepting Sundays) from ~6 for about an hour each day

· I will work to ground every PFTF and COI activity in the core identifying principles of PFTF and COI, or evolve those principles as we see necessary

· If we define and evolve PFTF / COI to a viable self-sustaining venture that can viably support our families, I intend to devote my full-time efforts toward PFTF / COI.

· It would be ideal if my current full-time gig and PFTF / COI can align and coalesce.

· I will execute action items that I agree to undertake as a result of PFTF and COI discussions and planning activities

· To practice and bootstrap what we are developing in concept

To achieve these intended milestones

· To realize a vibrant, growing, self-sustaining community of aligned individuals and organizations who identify themselves with PFTF / COI and support those core principles

· To incubate ideas toward business plans and prototypes, for launching as open source initiatives, or as funded businesses

· To realize a future that is sustainable for the planet and all its inhabitants

· To provide humanity with a platform for creating such collaboration

· To Create the COI

· To Create a COI stewardship core group / team

· To create ventures / incorporated entities that become COI members

Until

· Death renders me incapable of making further progress

· The success milestones described above have been realized

· The COI is a momentous world-wide phenomenon that has a life of its own independent of my further efforts

· Whichever comes first

Where I want to focus

I would like to concentrate on

· The core PFTF / COI identity and principles

· The PFTF / COI architecture (including conceptual context, initiatives, philosophical foundations, community, etc)

· Rules of Collaboration (to replace Robert’s Rules of Order)

· WYSIWYDo

· LearnTweets

· Dictipedia

· DKR

· CCC

· GlobalSIM & GlobalVIZ aka STCI (Search for Terrestrial Collective Intelligence)

· Interactions with Doug Engelbart, to the extent he is willing to stay active

Where you can complement me

· Help examine team interactions and how they can be understood, mined for lessons, and feed these insights back into our bootstrap cycles

· Help me create the framework for the Rules of Collaboration

· Help assure other PFTF / COI initiatives embrace the core PFTF / COI identity principles

· Ensure that PFTF / COI logistics are executed or otherwise handled

· Develop an underlying DKR (dynamic knowledge repository) platform for representation of all the content / knowledge / code that will be required.

· Help ground PFTF / COI in the ideas that were offered by Doug Engelbart, even as we make progress beyond where Doug was able to show us the way

· Be a committed partner so we can support each other when any of these initiatives encounter difficult times
