Fragment-
Halloran, a prominent rhetorician looks at the discourse surrounding a new idea in the field of science, specifically, Watson and Crick’s development and publishing the double helix model of DNA. His main critique follows the assertion: “Both argumentatively and stylistically, then, Watson and Crick put forward a strong proprietary claim to the double helix. What they offer is not the structure of DNA or a model of DNA, but Watson and Cricks structure or model. Moreover, in staking their claim they enact a distinctive way of adhering to ideas in public; they dramatize themselves as intellectual beings in a particular style.” Halloran’s approach here can be easily applied to the simulation hypothesis model in the same way it was to the double helix model.
