In fact we should have had an election when Gordon took over, but quite why he thinks somebody else more popular taking over would mean doing something he decided was not necessary is just laughable. But then in truth thisis about Gordon wanting to stay in power whatever the cost and he is just manufacturing excuses, anything so he can stay in power - which in itself annoys the electorate even more."
