Grand narrative of climate change is a costly/hypocritical distraction
Governments' espoused enthusiasm (where it exists) for climate treaties is often not borne out in action—either by failing to meet the targets or by via loopholes that render the targets meaningless. As such, the grand narrative is a costly distraction from urgent needs where progress can be made.
