What people are saying... from Tech City on Vimeo.

Tech City is experiencing incredible growth. In just three years, it has expanded naturally from around 15 companies to over 300. It offers opportunities for innovative businesses of all sizes, from start-ups to multinationals, from UK, Europe and beyond.

Key to its rapid growth is Tech City’s location in the heart of London, with access to a world-leading financial services sector and Europe’s largest venture capital community. At the same time, it is attracting an established and growing community of tech-focused companies and people. With a vibrant multi-cultural commercial and social scene, Tech City is creating a buzz to generate new ideas, innovation and to attract the best talent.

A new generation of talent

The transformational power of the web is inspiring a new generation of entrepreneurs and engineers to create new business models and new solutions to social and economic problems.

Based in Tech City, Apps for Good helps young people learn to create mobile and web apps that make their world better, focusing on solving real life issues that matter to them and their community. Apps for Good is a project of the Centre for Digital Inclusion, a global network of community-based centres working on digital inclusion, entrepreneurship and community action.

In this video, Daniel Morris of Apps for Good explains how the web can help to inspire and empower young people to use the potential of technology:

“Apps for Good is an example of an attempt.. to make [learning] more goal-based, to make it more exciting. Technology is a tool for young people..it’s not a prescriptive task list. How young people think about technology is almost fundamentally different from the people setting the agenda.”

You can find out more about opportunities for digital and creative start-up companies on the Tech City website.
