People abuse alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, sex, food, and shopping too
Some people use drugs, experiences, power, money, fame...we cannot outlaw everything that people abuse, especially with the idea that using them in small amounts leads to other abuses.  With that logic, most everything should be illegal.
