| The mandate of the Special Rapporteur Why1 #379481 By its resolution 10/23 of 26 March 2009, the Human Rights Council decided to establish, for a period of three years, a new special procedure entitled “independent expert in the field of cultural rights”, as set out in the relevant United Nations human rights instruments.
The mandate was extended in March 2012 for a period of three years, conferring to the current mandate holder the status of Special Rapporteur in the field of cultural rights (resolution 19/6). |
