National Archives use case
Original records in digital format are not going to be managed according to record management requirements. All original records must be retained without changes to format, otherwise the failure to meet retention of records requirements fail. Legal accountability-risk to reputation and financial threats are introduced with trust and loyalty loss as an outcome.

Records in digital format are proposed to be a big data use case, in the description given about a scenarios where the source would be acquired and replaced in this situation the audience was of the opinion that this was a viable use case for replacing the source after processing.

The example was incorrectly described or a threat to the records.  Under no circumstances would any record in any datastore be replaced the source acquired and replaced IS NOT the requirement.  There is never a reason to replace original records with the latest technology.

All original files must be retained in all cases, no update of technology would warrant the replacement of original records.  Storing of the originals in their original format-MUST be the action in all cases where digital records are concerned.
