Downloading music should be allowed because it can be beneficial to the artist and record company in profit-making. Downloading music is a way for consumers to sample music and test what they may be buying, i.e., test driving a car before purchasing it. Sampling helps buyers make more informed choices on products and thus, they are willing to pay more for a product that they are content with. So it can be argued that the music industry may actually benefit from file-sharing networks. |
