Community based primary health care can improve the nutrition status of children.

A substantial global review has concluded that the community based primary health care can improve the nutrition status of children, and by improving the health status that interacts with nutritional status (Task Force of the Effectiveness of Community-based Primary Health Care of the International Health Section of the American Public Health Association, 2009).

It can help prevent many child illnesses, expand coverage of immunisations, promote hand washing and family planning, prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV infections, and improve child health through non-health interventions.
