Party will strugggle to recovery quickly from a catastrophic defeat
An early election would almost certainly be a catastrophic defeat for Labour, and prospects for a later election (at least for now)look marginally less catastrophic. The speed of recovery of the Party in opposition will depend critically on the number of MPs and candidates who survive the cull.
