Here are some of the items in the Details panels in this kmap:
- Under "photographs" you will not only see a set of photographs from Greenpeace NZ but also a link to a user's set on Flickr.
- Under "political responses" you will see an embedded video from New Zealand's Labour leader.
- The map of the area is scalable and navigable.
- There are web links.
- There's text.
Finally, and importantly, this kmap links to the "oil spills" kmap which connects to other oil spills that have taken place in the oceans. What this means generally is that individual kmaps can be built independently (and collaboratively) and then be linked together to form meta-kmaps.
Ways to improve the kmap:
1. Add more information to it.
2. Start a discussion around it by becoming a part of the map community.
