A conscious machine could be built, but not unless it was built with a point of view. The following would be evidence that the machine possessed a point of view:
- displaying homeostatic (goal directed) behaviour;
- displaying holistic assessment of its context and context dependent responses;
- and ascribing consciousness to its provided offered some explanatory power.
