Social media did amplify the revolt. It doesn't have to be all or none
Digital tools may have played a role in mobilizing the Tunisian crowds, even if they are not sufficient to explain why the revolts happened. The role of Twitter and Facebook doesn't take anything away from the courage of the Tunisians who set themselves on fire or participated to street protests.
