Chlorthalidone for stroke protection in African Americans
An African American comes to clinic and is on hydrochlorothiazide as a diuretic for hypertension.  VisTa reminds the clinician seeing the patient: "The VA ALLHAT study showed that African Americans are protected from having strokes by being on chlorthalidone.  Please consider a switch in diuretics."
