The nonprofit sector is growing worldwide. So does its need for professional legal, HR, strategy, marketing, technology and other services. However, nonprofits often lack sufficient financial resources to buy these services. In recent years, pro bono – companies donating their services "for the common good" – has proven to be a way out of this dilemma. Yet for pro bono projects to be successful, it takes organizations that are familiar with both worlds: that of NGOs and that of companies. In the last few years, such pro bono intermediaries have emerged worldwide, for the most part independently of each other.

The Global Pro Bono Summit is the first platform that brings together this intermediaries from all over the world. The summit includes a variety of different formats such as workshops, panels and field trips with the aim to:

• strengthen existing pro bono intermediaries and support new efforts
• develop solutions to specific challenges in peer group meetings
• discuss best practices with different actors in the field
• share fundraising strategies
• experience the impact of pro bono on site
• develop global pro bono standards

We believe that pro bono is a powerful tool to shape social change. By creating a global pro bono marketplace, we hope to ensure the quality and professionalism of nonprofit organizations. Intermediaries should be given an opportunity for dialogue and exchange, so that they do not have to repeat the same mistakes nor reinvent the wheel all over again. ​​
