1. The nature of the objects (variously called hubs, nodes, elements, spheres or bubbles) are not pre-determined. A difograph can represent collections of objects from a single multi-media page through websites to other difographs. This means that difographs easily provide a bird's-eye view of knowledge collections, a view that is difficult to produce otherwise. 2. Difographs created by different groups of people can be linked together. 3. The dynamic structure of the difograph means that elements can be hidden until needed, reducing display clutter and introducing rest moments. 4. The dynamic editing of the difograph means that elements of the graph can be updated asynchronously with (if the software allows it, in true wiki fashion) changes recorded on a time-line. 5. The bird's-eye view mentioned in 1. allows for easy pattern recognition among knowledge elements.
