Laurel Wheeler
Dr. Laurel Wheeler is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Alberta. She holds a PhD and an MA in Economics from Duke University, an MSc in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Florida. Dr. Wheeler is an Applied Microeconomist whose main research interests are in development economics and labor economics.

  • Her current research agenda focuses on Indigenous economic development, wealth and income disparities, and labor markets in low-income countries.
