Latin American Awards Programme for Digital Cities
The award was created to reward the development of e-government initiatives and to stimulate the modernization of Latin American municipalities.

The contest is open to cities at any stage of their modernization process, which have integrated information and communications technologies (ICTs) in the economic, social and cultural life of their city, demonstrating a significant progress in their transition to become a "Digital City".

Additionally, two special prizes will be granted: "E-Integration" will award the best practice which emphasizes the female labour integration in ICTs and "Regional E-Cooperation" which values technical cooperation in e-government between two cities, based on practical cases on know-how and technological transfer.
