Jakob von Metzler case
Case of 11-year-old Jakob von Metzler in Germany in September 2002.
Police arrested the man who collected the ransom three days after Jakob had been kidnapped. The man refused to co-operate with the police interrogators; however, he revealed Jakob's location ten minutes after being threatened with pain (following a written order to this effect from the chief of police). Tragically, in this instance, Jakob was already dead.
