Framing
Mind sets determine evidence sought and questions asked. Exclusive use of a problem solving format (even PDCA) can channel thinking just as much as a political ideology, the arena that made "framing" a popular term. Truly novel ideas are apt to come from somewhere outside established mental ruts.
Every organization attempting to innovate has this issue. Clear communication depends on common framing, terminology, and formats.

On the other hand, ideas truly novel to this milieu come from outside it. So human learning has to include curiosity about the unknown, going outside the trends of the "inside herd."

For background on "framing," from George Lakoff, see the citation.

We probably will make little headway developing vigorous learning without coming to grips with what we humans really are biologically and psychologically. We have to compensate for our own weaknesses. If we could do that, the other challenges of Compression might not seem so impossible to overcome.
