Addressing many problems in Compression requires seeing them in full context -- as many factors as possible: process, technology, people (all stakeholders), environment, life cycle external effects. Not doing this may simplify decisions, but not make them better -- and yet decisions must be timely.
The discipline of fully seeing a problem in context even in a factory is good practice for this. Don't do something, just stand there carefully taking it in, asking 5 why questions and so on. In a broader context, think ahead and think afar, how does this problem affect Compression and what might be longer term effects? Takes practice.
