A journey downward through the categories of the FSI
A journey downward through the categories of the Fragile State Index.

The Fragile States Index uses the following categories:

Very High Alert
High Alert
Alert

High Warning
Elevated Warning
Warning

Stable
More Stable
Very Stable

Sustainable
Very Sustainable

The process of collapse could then be considered a journey backwards, "down" through the categories of the FSI.

There are 125 countries in the first two groupings and 53 in the second two, thus, we might say, 125 in categories of concern and 53 in categories of safety.
