UK Health Forum
The UK Health Forum [1] is a charitable alliance of professional and public interest organisations working to reduce the risk of avoidable non-communicable diseases. The Forum develops evidence-based public health policy, and supports its implementation through advocacy and modelling to estimate potential health and economic effects of future policies. It provides information to the wider public and healthcare professionals through information portals, awareness services and innovative tools [2]. For instance, NCDLinks connects public-health advocates internationally and the Prevention, Information & Evidence elibrary has over 4,000 resources on NCD risk factors and determinants. UK Health Forum also conducts and funds research [3]. The Healthy Places project focuses on regulatory options and policy areas that could enable, or place limits on, local government and community activity that affects the healthiness of places [4].
