The Robert Woods Johnson Foundation (RWJF) [1] is Americaâs largest philanthropy dedicated solely to health. The foundation is working to help achieve health equity and expand opportunity to pursue the best health possible, through investments in four broad areas: Healthy Communities, Healthy Kids Healthy Weight, Health Leadership and Health Systems [2]. To realise this, RWFâs activities include grant programmes that engage policymakers, business, leaders community groups and other stakeholders; research funding to build a strong evidence-base, and promoting a culture of health in America [3]. For instance, the charity supports programme which are helping to disparities, and provide all children the building blocks for lifelong health. These include: helping kids grow up at a healthy weight; teaching kids social and emotional skills at home, in child-care settings and in the classroom; creating schools where education and health are linked; and empowering families, educators, providers, and other caring adults to create safe and healthy environments for kids [4]. |
