The Workplace Wellness Alliance, initially based within the World Economic Forum, transitioned to the Institute for Health and Productivity Management (IHPM) [1] in January 2013. In December 2012, there were 157 companies signed up. Its mission is to ‘establish the full value of employee health as a business asset – as human capital – and an investment in corporate performance’. It does this by serving as a global resource for health and productivity management, developing tools, metrics and methods to deliver and evaluate programmes [2].
