Founded in 1996, the European Network for Workplace Health Promotion (ENWHP) [1] is ‘an informal network of national occupational health and safety institutes, public health, health promotion and statutory social insurance institutions’, establishing the infrastructure to facilitate information exchange and sharing of good practice across Europe. Just one organisation per country is a national contact office of the ENWHP (in the UK, this is the Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives) [2]. The ENWHP has also developed good practice criteria such as Promoting Healthy Work for Workers with Chronic Illness: A Guide to Good Practice (2012).This guide has been produced to support people with chronic illness to return to work at an early stage and provides examples of checklists and action plans [3]. |
