Mapping the Systems of Science and Technology: Assessing Tools for Teamwork – Yámana Science and Technology's third national Science 'UnSummit' – explored how and where needs, challenges and opportunities interlock in the systems of science and technology, utilizing visual processes for 'Mapping the Systems of Science and Technology.' 

The topic of our 2010 'UnSummit' was "Shifting the Effort/Reward Ratio in Science." In 2012, we broadened the discussions, with the theme of "Innovation - a Global Conversation." These working conferences were held as part of the USA Science and Engineering Festival in Washington, DC. In each case, we explored current data and presented emergent trends from various domains of science and technology.

The diversity in the room allowed new cross-sector understanding, new insights and new information to be shared. The conference format started with presentations from the forefront of change, followed by Open Space - a meeting format created over 25 yrs ago by Harrison Owen to support highly effective information exchange and focus where the issues are complex and varied.
