The definition that is being currently used by thegovernment is a lousy one. There are better ways to measure poverty thenjust picking numbers based on a food allowance. What needs to be looked at is enough money fora family to be happy. That does not meanthat we need to through money at these families. It means we have to give them a real opportunityfor upward mobility and not just the illusion of one. |
