On 29 November 2011, the European Commission, the Flemish Regional authorities and the local authorities of the Province of Antwerp organized a conference on the theme ‘Going Local II – The digital agenda for Europe’. A similar exercise took place in Namur.

Aim of the conference in Antwerp was to receive feedback from the Flemish stakeholders on the current policy of the EU in this respect and to investigate whether these policies have to be adjusted, to detect lacunae in the regulations  and to determine whether new initiatives should be developed.

The conference focused on three selected topics: ‘Green ICT’, ‘E-inclusion’ and ‘E-government’. The results of the conference might initiate new regulations, standardization, research projects and/or the exchange of best practices.
