What does systemic enlightenment mean in the context of Democracy?
The political and democratic system in the U.S. is a fallen system, with its closed processes and patterns, its policies and the influence of special interest groups. As a system seems to be regressing toward oligarchy, instead of developing towards an open, participative and deliberative democracy.
I agree with @Helene, that OWS is the most hopeful sign to re-invent democracy for “all of us”. I also think that we need a complex adaptive political crowdsourcing platform, using ICT and social media to dis-intermediate and democratize the two major U.S. political parties. But an open society, needs open enterprises and open-minded individuals, so we do need this new garden mindset badly, as the garden is in a MESS!
