• Telecentres: since the Ministerial Declaration on e-Inclusion (Riga, 2006) many actions were undertaken in different Spanish regions to address the needs of underprivileged population. For example, in Asturias around 42.000 users and 2.500 small and micro enterprises were digitally supported by telecentres. In Andalucia, Guadalinfo network has created in the last 7 years almost 1.000 centres with 10.000 PCs, engaging 170 small city's councils. 160.000 activities were carried out, including 799 innovation projects since 2009 (with the participation of around 1.800 public bodies and 3.200 social entities). An external impact study showed that each euro invested by Guadalinfo in training had an impact on GDP = 2,3 euros.

• Special target groups: the demographic change in Europe is demanding a higher number of caring services for elderly people, a tendency that will increase in the upcoming years. An IPTS study run in 4 countries (2009-2010) identified interesting examples of ICT-enhanced initiatives giving support to domiciliary carers in Andalucia, like the Servicio Andaluz de Teleasistencia (public service) or Cuidadoras en Red (third sector). Despite the number of challenges they face to economically survive and satisfy increasing requests, these initiatives normally produce social and digital benefits at a low cost, which generates a high value for money.

• Social Media role in civic participation processes: spontaneous participative processes like the "Spanish Revolution" (known in Spain as "15M") are socio-political phenomena where Social Media play a multiplier specific role. Projects like "Centros sociales autogestionados", where abandoned public spaces are occupied and exploited by social groups who preserve the patrimony and make a socio-cultural use of the space, adhere to the same kind of philosophy. Social action, cultural development and horizontal political participation are simultaneously generated through social media and in the "real world".
