Disorders like BDD aren't treated properly and surgery doesn't cure it
Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) is a serious mental illness in which a person is obesssing over a flaw or their appearance-a flaw that is either minor or imagined. Their apperance can be so shameful that they do not want to be seen by anyone or do not want to go out in public. These people often look to plastic surgery in order to "fix" these flaws but because it is a mental illness, surgery does not cure them. They often keep going back to fix the same issue but often do not achieve happiness.
