What is the difference between “skinny” and “slender?”
As a adjective, the distinction between skinny and slender is that skinny means “thin, generally in a negative sense (as opposed to slim, which is thin in a positive sense),” but slender is “thin; slim.”
When used as an adjective, skinny may be defined as “having reduced fat or calories.” In contrast, slender is “meagre; deficient.”
Skinny is “naked; nude (chiefly used in the phrase skinny dipping).” In contrast, slender is “palatalized.”
