Excerpt / Summary
I’ve said consistently that we are going to follow parallel tracks on this issue; that we are going to continually provide Iran an opportunity to correct course; and the international community has put before Iran, in the form of the offer around the Tehran research reactor, ample opportunity for them to signify to the international community that they are in fact only interested in peaceful civilian nuclear energy. So far, it’s been rebuffed. And I said very clearly at the outset of my administration that we would give them this opportunity, but should it be rebuffed we are going to be pursuing these other tracks.
