The Social Cost of Carbon
The Social Cost of Carbon (SCC) is a metric by which to measure the dollar value of the damages caused by every incremental ton of CO2 or CO2e that is emitted to the atmosphere. It is an inherently attractive metric, but in practice is highly contentious and very difficult to accurately calculate.
